About Us

The Palace Theatre has a significant and storied history dating back to the 1900’s. Originally built in 1929 as a silent movie theatre, the Palace Theatre was noted as one of the finest establishments of its kind in the entire world.

The Palace Theatre has shown classic movies from “The Gay Divorcee” with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, to “Return of the Cisco Kid” with Jimmy Durante, “A Foreign Affair” with Marlene Dietrich and “Something for the Boys” with Carmen Miranda.

Today, the Palace Theatre is home to the London Community Players, an entirely volunteer run organization that strives to provide a space for community theatre and a drama training ground in London, Ontario. With a 350 seat capacity, the Palace Theatre hosts various drama, arts and educational functions throughout the year and still charms its visitors with its exquisite interior today.

Most recently, Musical Theatre Productions is proud to call the Palace Theatre their home too! A charitable organization, originally formed in 1988, Musical Theatre Productions currently produces two major musicals each season, one in November and one in March. Their mission is to consistently produce and advocate for high-quality community musical theatre for London and surrounding area.
