RENTAL GUIDELINES & INFORMATION

The Palace Theatre is a designated Heritage building, located at 710 Dundas St. East, London, Ontario.  The Theatre is available for rentals during what are called “dark days”.  We welcome all kinds of events including corporate meetings, dance, music and theatrical functions, fundraisers, weddings and parties.  The Theatre is also equipped with a full movie screen and projection system for film festivals, film previews, and power point presentations.  Also available are wi-fi and satellite streaming via Bell Satellite feeds.

The Palace Theatre main auditorium seating capacity is 350 and the lobby and auditorium are accessible for wheelchairs. The stage is approximately 35 ft deep x 50 ft wide.  The proscenium opening is 30 ft x 18 ft. The apron has a two step access to the auditorium floor across the front. There are access doorways from the auditorium to the stage on either side of the proscenium opening.  All theatre rentals include full use of the Theatre, dressing rooms, green room, lobby, and concession area. Full measured drawings are available.

RENTALS    –    MAINSTAGE

All charges are based on a minimum of 5 hours (except for weekly rentals during office hours)

MAINSTAGE: standard set up, no special lighting, no special sound security staff only

From 10am to 5pm                       $500.00

From 5pm – 10pm                        $625.00 from 10pm -1am please add $150.00 per hour

Weekly Rate:                                  $6,000 from Monday till Sunday (up to 8 hours per day)

MAINSTAGE: with use of house sound (cordless handheld mic) and stage lighting for performance in front of curtain with tech staff to run sound and lights (3 hrs max per performance) two ushers and security staff, online ticketing, no evening box office, no concessions.

From 10 am to 5pm                      $750.00

From 5pm – 10pm                        $1000.00 from 10pm – 1am please add $250.00 per hour

Weekly Rate:                                  $7000.00 (up to 8 hours per day)

MAINSTAGE:  theatre set up with sound, lights for theatrical use with tech staff to operate lights & sound, concessions (no licensed bar), ushers, security, House Management, Box Office open evenings and weekends,  and online ticketing.

From 10am to 5pm                         $1000.00

From 5-10pm                                  $1250.00 from 10pm -1am please add $275.00 per hour

Weekly Rate:                                   $8000.00 (up to 8 hours per day)

These charges are in addition to rental rates:

  • add $20 per hour for projection operator (minimum of 3 hours)
  • add $20 per hour for spotlight operator (minimum of 3 hours)
  • Tech Staff for sound and lights charged at $25 per hour per staff member (minimum of 3 hours unless included in rental)
  • If you require licensed concession cost is $100 per day for Special Event License & expenses,  plus $25 per hour for Smart Serve bar staff (1 bar staff per 100 patrons)
  • If you require evening Box Office Staff prior to show please add $150 per performance
  • 3% debit/credit card charge
  • $2 per ticket surcharge for preservation of the Palace
  • 10% online handling charge (to patrons only)
  • $50 event set up fee – for data entry online ticketing
  • Additional equipment rentals/contract rider specifications and set up fees charged to renter
  • Area includes: main theatre, lobby, dressing rooms, green room

PROCUNIER HALL

Procunier has recently undergone a complete restoration and renovation. Procunier Hall is a space that measures approximately 54 long x 24 wide, it has two accessible washrooms, and a small kitchen.  The Hall has its own entrance from Dundas Street and can be completely self-contained.  This Hall will seat up to 100 theatre style with a 10 x 15’ space for a “stage” area. The walls are prepared and can be used to hang paintings or art works and some easels are available that can be used for displaying artwork. This space can also be used for receptions/parties etc., and a kitchenette is available (there is no food prep allowed, but caterers can use the kitchen for re-heating and serving from).  There are also 2 accessible washrooms.  The hall has a separate front and rear entrance and is wheelchair accessible.  By September 2012 Procunier will be fully equipped with portable stage lighting and sound with full blackout curtains on the front windows.
