Join Kerry Hishon for this New Stage Workshop where you’ll cover the basics of Stage Combat, with a focus on safety and unarmed combat. You’ll learn how to safely fall, throw punches, telegraph your story, and more!
Please wear comfortable clothing, stable shoes, and bring a water bottle.
Maximum of 10 participants.
Kerry Hishon has trained in stage combat with Shrew’d Business (London) and Art of Combat (New York) since 2010. Stage combat credits include Oliver! (LYTE), A Permanent Image (Theatre Aezir), Heathers: The Musical (Musical Theatre Productions), The Trials of Robin Hood (London Community Players), Macbeth (The Voices Collective), [THEY FIGHT!] (London Fringe 2013 – Impresario Winner), Physical Discussions and When Words Fail (Access Theatre, NYC), as well as many productions with Original Kids Theatre Company.
Not in New Stage, but interested in the workshop?
LCP Members can register for $25, and non-members for $50. Registration for the workshop will remain open until either it is filled or until July 8, 2018.
Please Note: All New Stage Workshops take place at the London Community Players' Annex Space at 523 South St, NOT at the Palace Theatre. Spots in the workshops are limited and need to be purchased in advance as some preparation may be required, as well as items brought from home. We ask that you arrive prior to the workshop start time.
Workshops spaces are only available for purchase online on a first come-first served basis. If you do not have an existing customer profile, you will need to fill one out before making your workshop purchase, including an active email address. You will receive information and correspondence regarding the workshops via email.
If the workshop you wish to attend happens to sell out before you can register, don’t despair! In the event this happens we will create a waitlist. If you wish to be placed on a waitlist for sold out New Stage workshops, you will need to email program coordinator Kaitlyn Rietdyk here. We will not be accepting waitlist requests via phone or facebook messenger.
The New Stage Program and Workshop Series is made possible by a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
An agency of the Government of Ontario, the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is one of Canada’s largest granting foundations. With a budget of over $136 million, OTF awards grants to some 1,000 projects every year to build healthy and vibrant Ontario communities.
